Sidney and Lehman Catholic boys golfers were honored in all-conference teams that were released this week.

Sidney’s Jared Lindsey and Kyle Noble were named first team all-Greater Western Ohio Conference American Division, while Lehman’s Tyler Lachey and Ryan Schmidt were first team all-Northwest Central Conference.

Lindsey and Noble both qualified for the Division I districts individually earlier this month. Lindsey averaged a 42.28 score this year, while Noble averaged 42.79. Sidney finished second in the GWOC American North this season with a 10-4 record, which is the school’s best record since 2009.

“Both Jared Lindsey and Kyle Noble did their best at district, but we faced some great competition,” Sidney coach Bill Rippey said. “Getting to districts is hard, but getting out is rare. I applaud the boys for accomplishing the goal for this year, which was to make it to district.

“As I look back, it was really special to spend a day at districts with these upstanding gentlemen. Kyle shot an 87 and Jared shot a 90. In order to qualify, we needed to shoot a 73.”

Spencer Karn was named to second team all-GWOC American Division. Karn, Lindsey and Noble are seniors. Rippey said the three earned their honors by playing well the GWOC postseason tournament and thanked the three for their hard work.

“I can’t wait for next season,” Rippey said. “Yes we are losing a lot with Jared, Kyle and Spencer, but we have a solid group of underclassmen who are ready to take over the reigns.”

Lachey and Schmidt consistently had the highest scores this year for Lehman, which qualified as a team for Div. III district earlier this month. The Cavaliers finished first in the NWCC and won the conference tournament.

Riverside’s James Hudson and Try Lane were first team all-NWCC, while Lehman’s Cole Gilardi was second team.
