Area football roundup: All four Shelby County teams in playoffs

0

All four Shelby County high school football teams will earn playoff berths, as well as two other area teams.

According to JoeEitel.com — which the Ohio High School Athletic Association began using for its official computer ratings last year — Sidney, Anna, Fort Loramie, Lehman Catholic, Minster and Riverside all have playoff berths.

In Division II, Region 8, Sidney (9-1) will host Dayton Belmont (9-0). In Division V, Region 20, Anna (7-3) will travel to Middletown Madison (8-2). In Division VII, Region 28, Lehman Catholic will host Lima Perry in a rematch of a Northwest Central Conference game from Week 9.

Fort Loramie, Riverside and Minster’s first-round matchups are still yet to be determined. Due to Delphos St. John’s upset of Coldwater on Friday, the Blue Jays have rocketed in Region 28 standings and will host a first-round game.

Delphos St. John’s beat Lima Central Catholic in Week 2 and could earn more second-level points on Saturday when LCC travels to Gilmour Academy. If LCC wins, the second-level points St. John’s will earn will boost them to the No. 3 seed in Region 28, while Minster (6-4) will be No. 4. If LCC loses, Minster will be No. 3 and St. John’s will be No. 4.

Fort Loramie (8-2) is the No. 5 seed and will travel to whichever team is the No. 4 seed. Riverside (6-4) is the No. 6 seed and will travel to whichever team is the No. 3 seed.

Full playoff pairings will be posted on sidneydailynews.com on Sunday when announced by the OHSAA.
