SIDNEY — Artwork created by Lehman Catholic High School students will be part of the Student Art Exhibit held in conjunction with Mainstreet Piqua’s annual “Taste of the Arts.” The exhibit will be open until May 23 on the second floor of the Apple Tree Gallery in downtown Piqua during regular store hours and during the evening on Friday, May 20, the night of the “Taste of the Arts.” The Apple Tree Gallery is located at 405 N. Main St.

A variety of Lehman student work will be on display including classical drawing, stylized mixed media painting, whimsical pastels, and ceramics.

Lehman Art Teacher Tim Langenderfer will be a featured demonstrating artist during the May 20 event. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., Langenderfer will be demonstrating pastel drawing techniques in an illustrative style geared especially for junior high and high school students. From 6:45 – 9:00 p.m., he will demonstrate a mixed media technique that includes acrylic paint, gouache and colored pencil. The demonstrations will be on the second floor of the Apple Tree Gallery.

“I am excited to interact with the public, especially students,” said Langenderfer. “I like the idea of showing students how they can make art.” Langenderfer’s artwork can also be seen online at http://timlangenderger.com.
