SIDNEY — Ten seniors will receive their diplomas on Friday, May 26, 2017, when Christian Academy Schools holds its commencement ceremony at the school. Graduation will begin at 7 p.m. A reception will follow the ceremony.
The top two students are James Curlis and Alena Tagle. The announcement of who will be valedictorian and salutatorian will be made during the Senior awards Service on May 24.
The class verse is “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” 1 Cor. 16:13. The class motto is The past is my heritage. The present is my responsibility. The future is my challenge.” the class song is “Courageous” by Casting Crowns.
The three Buckeye Boys recipients, James Curlis, Paul Kindig and Josiah Kramer, and the two Wendy’s High School Heisman winners, Josiah Kramer and Summer Inman, will be recognized during graduation.
Mary Smith superintendent of Christian Academy Schools with be the graduation speaker recognizing the accomplishments of the class of 2017.
Seventy-five percent of the college bound students will be receiving scholarships from DAR Good Citizen, Rotary Club, Honda Math Medal, Ruese Insurance Scholarship, Raider Excellence Scholarship – Wright State University, Valedictorian and Salutitorian Scholarship for Wright State University
Members of the Class of 2017 are Bethany Abbott, James Curlis, Jesse Divens, Summer Inman, Paul Kindig, Josiah Kramer, Ethan Pollard, Ciaran Shellenberg, Alena Tagle and Gunnar Weymer.
