Conover man killed in crash

SIDNEY — The man killed in a two-vehicle crash in Sidney Saturday evening has been identified by the Sidney Police Department.

Michael Vest, 35, of Conover, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner.

According to the press release, Chadwick Amburgey, 36, of Sidney, was driving a 2007 Chevy Impala Saturday at 11:12 p.m. He was traveling westbound on state Route 47. His vehicle struck a minivan which was in the process of making a right turn from Royan Avenue onto state Route 47.

After striking the minivan, Amburgey’s vehicle hit the guardrail. The vehicle came to rest on the right side of state Route 47. There were three occupants in the Impala. Vest was an occupant of the vehicle.

The minivan was driven by Stephanie Dowty, 27, of Piqua. There were four individuals in her vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation and crash reconstructionists were called in to investigate. Alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors of the crash.

Upon completion of the crash investigation, the information will be turned over to the Shelby County Prosecutor for review.
