Pumpkin People winners announced

NEW BREMEN — In the 10th annual New Bremen Pumpkin People event, 12 businesses from the New Bremen area participated in the contest by the New Bremen Community Improvement Corp. and the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce.

Hundreds of votes were collected from voters from 36 communities.

First place, with 92 votes, went to “Runaway Express” made by Brookside Laboratories. Second place went to “Moses Parting the Pumpkin Sea” created by St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Third place went to “Making Dreams Come True at Topsy Turvy Toys” made by Topsy Turvy Toys.

Three voters’ ballots were randomly chosen to win chamber gift certificates. They were Jill McClung, Alice Hartwig and Bill Shipman.

“Moses Parting the Pumpkin Sea,” created by St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, took the second-place prize in the recent Pumpkin People contest.
