Fairlawn FFA attends State FFA Convention

SIDNEY — The Fairlawn FFA Chapter Members went to Columbus, Ohio to participate in the 87th, State Convention on April 30 and May 1, 2015.

On the first day, students took a tour at Airstream in Jackson, Center Ohio, before heading to the convention and expo center. The students went to the first session of the Ohio FFA convention. Following that they went to Hoggy’s for dinner. The students then went to the second session to see Ollivia Hageman accept an award from Children’s Hospital on behalf of the chapter for donating more than $200 to Children’s Hospital. That evening 16 of the 21 students that went then stayed at Fort Rapids in Columbus.

On the second day the students went to the third session to see 2014-15 Secretary Beth Weigandt, and Reporter Danielle Hall, receives a gold rating for their officer books. Following the session the students then went to dinner at Quaker Steak & Lube. All of the FFA members that went and some of the families of the members went to the last session to see six of the Fairlawn FFA members get their State Degrees. Those students were Ollivia Hageman, John Reck, Robert Hageman, Gage Pennington, Abbie Roe, and Madison Allison. This year’s trip to the 87th annual State FFA Convention was a success and the members are looking forward to next year’s trip.
