COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has announced the members of his office’s 2015-16 Teen Ambassador Board, which includes two students from Shelby County. The board is open to high school juniors and seniors who serve for one year, advising the office on issues relating to teens and working with their peers to develop solutions.

Names to the board were Tyler Guyette, of Sidney, a student at Sidney High School, and Ross Geuy, of Port Jefferson, a student at Piqua High School.

“This is an impressive group that will further help my office protect Ohio’s families with an emphasis on young people,” said DeWine. “Students from around the state have volunteered, and I look forward to hearing their ideas and proposals.”

This Teen Ambassador Board has more than 170 members hailing from 44 counties and more than 110 schools. The average GPA of the ambassadors is 3.8. A kick-off meeting will be held in August and the students serve through spring of 2016.

Members will be organized into small groups and advised by an Assistant Attorney General, working to develop and implement a solution to a pressing issue faced by Ohio youth. They will present their work to senior office officials at the end of their term.

Teen Ambassador Board members will convene twice in Columbus during the year, visit the offices of the Attorney General in Columbus and around the state, and meet with DeWine and other elected officials.
