Houston FFA holds Ag Day

Jason Jones, a Farm Bill wildlife biologist and a member of Pheasants Forever, presented a program on wildlife management to the fifth-grade students at Houston Elementary School.

HOUSTON — The Houston FFA Chapter conducted an Elementary Ag Day for Hardin-Houston fifth-graders on Friday, April 17.

FFA members educated students on various components of the agricultural industry and aligned their lessons to the fifth-grade science standards. Session topics included the Dairy Industry, Natural Resources, Biotechnology, Poultry Industry, and Wildlife Management. Throughout the duration of the event, elementary students gained valuable insight to our nation’s number one industry – agriculture and learned about various career pathways that are available to them in their future.
