ANOMALIES:

Two contested GOP U.S. House 8th District races appear on the ballot: the regular primary race will choose the candidate (out of 15) who faces the uncontested Democratic and Green Party challengers in the Nov. 8 general election and will fill the seat in January 2017. The special primary chooses one of the same 15 GOP candidates who face off in the June 7 special general election against previously announced and uncontested Democratic and Green candidates to immediately fill the vacant seat formerly held by John Boehner.

Five of the 11 candidates who appear on the GOP Presidential Primary ballot remain in the race: Carson, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio and Trump. Bush, Christie, Fiorina, Huckabee, Paul and Santorum dropped out of the race after the candidate withdrawal deadline. Even though Paul remains on the ballot, his votes will not be tabulated.

ELECTION PROFILE:

The AP will tabulate the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries along with the state’s primary, which consists of U.S. Senate, U.S. House, Ohio Supreme Court, State Senate and State House races.

TESTING BASICS:

—Test results are created electronically to test the accuracy of the election night reporting system and do not reflect an expectation of election results. They should not be broadcast, published, replicated or posted on websites.

—It is vital to read daily advisories during the testing period. Advisories move to premium subscribers’ FTP folders and news service advisory queues. Advisories will note updates to reports affecting candidates, races, precinct totals, etc., and will indicate the date when the updates will appear. Changes may be made up to Election Day.

—Capture each test during the testing period, including the day before the election. Confirm (1) you have the latest updates, (2) reports include votes for each candidate in each race, and for digital users (3) every race goes to 100 percent of precincts reporting, unless otherwise noted in an advisory.

—All reports move to news and broadcast services in each test. Frequency of test reports may not reflect the election night schedule detailed below. For example, county tables for contested U.S. House races move to Member Choice subscribers in each hour-long test, but will move just twice on election night. Premium service subscribers should note schedules for their regular AP services and for FTP folders.
