COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The mother of a 5-year-old boy who was shot in the head at their central Ohio home says he faces a long recovery.
Ta’sha Walters tells The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1QDFNKe ) she was asleep with her son Nathaniel Jones when gunfire erupted outside their Columbus home last Friday night.
He initially was hospitalized in extremely critical condition. Walters says his condition has stabilized and he’s been under heavy sedation.
Columbus police say they believe the shooting involved rival gangs.
It happened the same day that a car in Columbus was sprayed by bullets in an unrelated shooting, killing a 7-year-old boy and wounding his 5-year-old brother and 4-year-old sister.
Police reports show that several shots were fired into Walters’ home in October as well.
