POLITICAL SPEECH-OHIO LAW

COLUMBUS — An attorney says candidates for public office in Ohio can lie and get away with it under a recently upheld 2014 federal court ruling that struck down state law banning false statements in campaigns. SENT: 130 words. UPCOMING: 350 words by noon.

— BUS OVERTURNS: Authorities say eight people were injured when a bus overturned in Akron.

— INTERSTATE 71 CONSTRUCTION-CLOSURES: Transportation authorities say late-night motorists could encounter short-term full closures of Interstate 71 this week in southwest Ohio for construction work.

— OHIO VETERANS-HALL OF FAME: The state has installed a new touch-screen kiosk at the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame that features hundreds of photos and bios of its honorees.

— GOP 2016-KASICH: Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sik) plans to campaign in Wisconsin ahead of that Midwestern state’s April 5 Republican presidential primary.

— OHIO SCHOOLS CHIEF-RETIREMENT: Ohio’s state school board says the deadline to apply for superintendent is April 8 — but so far no one has put in for it.
