CLEVELAND (AP) — New Jersey’s junior U.S. senator is scheduled to speak next month at a Democratic Party luncheon in Cleveland.
The Ohio Democratic Party says that U.S. Sen. Corey Booker will be the headliner for the state party’s first-ever northeast Ohio luncheon June 17.
Booker is a former mayor of Newark, New Jersey. He’s expected to talk about the upcoming presidential election, expanding economic opportunities and how to strengthen national security.
The speech comes one month before the start of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on July 18.
Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper says Booker represents the future of the Democratic Party.
