DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A prosecutor says a man accused in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy has been indicted in Ohio on charges including murder and aggravated robbery.
Montgomery County’s prosecutor says 21-year-old Jalyn Simmons was indicted Friday in the March 28 death of James Banks during a robbery in Dayton. The indictment also charges the Dayton man with felonious assault, grand theft and tampering with evidence.
The statement released Friday by Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says Simmons is being held on a $1 million bond.
A message left Friday for Simmons’ attorney wasn’t immediately returned.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 11.
