PIQUA — A new organization made up of Miami County residents who are concerned about issues facing Miami County and surrounding the Miami County Sheriff’s office, the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office and other county offices, are inviting local officials to attend their meeting and address the issues.

The meeting, which will be held at the Piqua Public Library, 116 W. High St. in Piqua, will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 6 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and the public is encouraged to attend.

According to Brad Boehringer via a press release, the meeting is being sponsored by Concerned Citizens of Miami County, a new organization that wants to see elected officials and other officials show accountability for their actions and also be willing to be transparent with the public about what is going on in their offices.

Local officials have been invited to attend the meeting including Miami County Sheriff Charles Cox, Chief Deputy Dave Duchak, Major Steve Lord; Miami County Prosecutor Tony Kendell, Miami County Prosecutor’s Investigator Jim Taylor and Miami County Commissioners John “Bud” O’Brien, Richard Cultice and Jack Evans.

The meeting will allow the public to ask the officials questions about things that concern them and the public is being asked to be respectful of the officials during the meeting.

A discussion will also be held about the possibility of a peaceful protest at the Miami County Courthouse in the near future.

The public is being encouraged to attend and they are being asked to bring questions they want to ask the officials, said the press release.

Those with questions about the organization or who cannot attend and have questions they want to have addressed can contact the organization at [email protected].
