MINSTER — Police arrested a Piqua man Wednesday afternoon for allegedly trafficking in heroin.

Timothy A. Tron, 41, of Piqua, was arrested after he allegedly transported heroin to Minster in order to sell it, Auglaize County Sheriff Allen Solomon said. Officer recovered approximately 1.5 grams of heroin.

Solomon said the drug sting was conducted by members of the Auglaize/Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force, sheriff’s deputies and detectives, and Minster and New Bremen Police. The arrest came after a monthlong investigation by the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.

“This is proof that the heroin problem affects all areas of this county,” Solomon said. “It is brought here and sold to our citizens and we are doing all we can to stop it. The Drug Task Force and deputies on patrol are constantly working the drug problem in this county.”
