SIDNEY — Wilson Health has announced Greg Long as its new chief operating officer (COO).

He joins the leadership team with a wealth of experience and knowledge, having 35 years of multifaceted healthcare administration experience.

As the new COO, Long’s main responsibility will be to oversee the hospital’s day-to-day operations. Another one of Long’s duties will be to ensure that Wilson Memorial maintains the maximum operational efficiency, to meet compliance regulations and accreditation standards.

“I am pleased to welcome Greg to the Wilson team,” said Mark Dooley, chief executive officer of Wilson Memorial. “He is a proven leader in healthcare and he will be a valuable asset and resource to our future success.”

Long is no stranger to the daily operations and management of hospitals, as he previously served as president and CEO of OhioHealth’s O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. In addition, he was formerly the chief operating officer of Doctor’s Hospital in Nelsonville.

While serving in the U. S. Air Force, Long was the vice president of medical disaster response operations, where he supervised the disaster response and logistics operations of three hospitals and six ambulatory centers. He has served on various healthcare leadership boards, as well as being an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Long received his undergraduate degree from Wayland Baptist University in Texas, and went on to receive his master’s degree in public administration from Wilmington College in Wilmington, Delaware.

Long and his wife, Valorie, reside in Beavercreek. They have two children, Tyler and Lauren.
