2,567 visits recorded on SVB website

SIDNEY — More than 2,500 visits were recorded to the Sidney Visitors Bureau’s website during the month of June 2015.

Director Jeff Raible reported the 2,567 web sessions in 2015 were almost 900 more than the 1,698 web sessions in 2014. He presented his report during the July board meeting for the bureau.

There were 2,253 unique users in June, compated to 1,507 unique users in June 2014. There were 4,568 page views, an increase of more than 1,100 from the 3,434 page views in June 2014.

There were 457 Facebook views, down from the 962 views in June 2014. The time on site averaged 1:15, just slightly less than the 1:39 average time on site in June 2014

The bureau sent Sidney Visitors Bureau information to 3,671 individuals interested in learning more about this area after visiting the website or seeing ads in the Discover Ohio Travel Planner, Midwest Living Magazine, Country Living Magazine,and the Madden Media Regional Newspaper Insert. There were 1,232 reader response requests were fulfilled for the same period in 2014.

Advertising and Promotion concluded the second of a four month search engine marketing campaign with Madden Media to attract a higher volume of traffic to the Sidney Visitors Bureau website. This “key word search” plan began on May 1 and the first month generated 1,015 visitors to the SVB site. During the period of June 1 through June 30, 1,000 visitors clicked through to the Visitors Bureau website using this strategy.

Overall during the month of June, this program presented a page one impression of the Sidney Visitors Bureau accompanied by a link to the SVB web site to 37,080 people conducting key word travel searches on both Google and Bing. This Ad Words campaign will continue with both Google and Bing through the month of August.

The bureau also prepared and sent a Sidney Visitors Bureau promotional broadcast email to a list of 3,266 recipients. This list is comprised of patrons who visited the Visitors Bureau booth at the 2015 AAA Great Vacations Expo and those who responded to advertising the Bureau placed in the Madden Media regional newspaper insert.

On behalf of the city of Sidney, the Visitors Bureau emailed a welcome message to the coaches participating in the American Youth Basketball TOUR the last weekend in June. In total, 38 teams participated in this annual tournament that hosted more than 1,200 players, coaches, parents, siblings, and referees. Games were held in gyms at both Lehman Catholic High School and Fairlawn High School.
