SIDNEY — The medical staff of Wilson Health has announced its eighth annual Physician Memorial Scholarship.

Applications are available by contacting the Human Resources Department at 498-5505 or the Wilson Health website, www.wilsonhealth.org, under Career Opportunities, Physician Memorial Scholarship Fund. Applications should be turned in by June 3.

“The Physician Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a fully accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine in the continental U.S.,” said Dr. Robert McDevitt, Wilson chief of staff. “Awards will be made to outstanding students who have demonstrated academic excellence and who show definite need.”

Applicants must be graduates of a Shelby County high school.

“We will award up to $2,000 to the chosen applicant,” McDevitt said. A sub-committee of the Medical Staff Executive Committee will make the final decision.
