BOTKINS — Danielle Schneider, a senior at Botkins Local School, is the 2018 recipient of the Franklin B. Walter All Scholastic Award for Shelby County.

The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center and the Ohio Educational Service Center Association in the name of Franklin B Walter, former state superintendent of public instruction, Ohio Department of Education, give this award annually. One student from each educational service center in the state receives such an award.

The high school guidance counselor in each of the schools within Shelby County nominates a student for this award. Criteria for this selection include the individual’s school and community activities, awards, personal goal statement, grade point average and ACT/SAT score(s).

Schneider was honored at a recognition luncheon, April 18, in Columbus. She is the daughter of Andrew and Julie Schneider. She plans to attend the Ohio State University to study animal science/pre-veterinary medicine.
