SIDNEY — The Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services announced the promotions of lieutenant Mark Barga to assistant chief and firefighter Bryan Ramge to lieutenant. The promotions were made upon the retirement of Assistant Chief Chris Niswonger Monday, July 6.
Barga and Ramge were sworn-in Monday afternoon by Mayor Mike Barhorst out front of Sidney Fire Station No. 1 on West Poplar Street.
According to a Sidney Fire press release, Barga is a graduate of Sidney High School and started with Sidney as a firefighter/EMT in 1991. Barga became a paramedic in 1996, and was promoted to kieutenant in 2015. He was awarded the Sidney Firefighter of the Year in 2002. Barga currently resides in Anna with his wife, Lorri.
Ramge is a graduate of Mason High School and started with Sidney as a firefighter/EMT in 2012. Ramge became a paramedic later that same year. Ramge served in the United States Army Reserves as military police and secondary medic for 13 years. Ramge currently resides in Sidney with his wife, Krista, and their three children.
