Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held by a hybrid method, with board members in attendance in council chambers and others welcome to join virtually.

The purpose of the meeting is for City Council to hold an executive session to consider the employment of a public employee.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will hold a regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 8, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held by a hybrid method, with board members in attendance in council chambers and others welcome to join virtually.

Council is expected to adopt an ordinance pertaining to the city’s investment deposit policy.

City Council will be introduced to an ordinance to levy supplemental appropriations for the year 2021.

Council will hold a public hearing and will be introduced to an ordinance for the rezoning of a certain 177.783 acre tract of land from a B-2, community business district, and I-2, light industrial district, into five separate and distinct districts.

Council is expected to adopt six resolutions, and they are:

• Declaring the necessity of constructing and repairing certain sidewalks in the city of Sidney and requiring that abutting property owners construct or repair the same;

• Adopting an amended zero tolerance drug and alcohol testing policy and associated addendum for use in connection with the operations of the Shelby County Transit program;

• To authorize City Manager Mark Cundiff to enter into an agreement for the purchase of natural gas for the city of Sidney’s natural gas aggregation program;

• To authorize Cundiff to enter into an agreement for the purchase of electricity for the city of Sidney’s electricity aggregation program;

• To accept the plat titled “Goins utility easement vacation;”

• To confirm the appointment of Amy Klingler to the Shelby Metropolitan Housing Authority.

There will be discussions on parking amnesty program extension, parking across from the Sidney Middle School, and on a Compensation Commission recommendation.

Jackson Center Council

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Village council will meet Monday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Family Life Center located at 310 Davis St. The meetings are now open to the public again, but administrators request that visitors wear a mask and respect the social distancing guidelines. If you do not have a mask, one can be provided to you. There is also hand sanitizer on site for your use as well.

Items on the agenda include a report from Angela Hamberg, executive director of the Shelby County Regional Planning Commission; an ordinance establishing job classifications and rates for all village employees; a resolution to enter into an agreement with Freytag and Associates for plan design for addition onto the existing village utilities garage facility; an ordinance for the issuance of notes not to exceed $1,000,000 in anticipation of the issuance of bonds for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring certain real estate in the village.

Fairlawn Board of Education

SIDNEY — Fairlawn Local Schools Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. in the Workforce Hanger. Items on the agenda include administrative and board member reports; and employment, awarding service contracts and accepting resignations.

Botkins Board of Education

BOTKINS — The Botkins Local School District Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in the media center.

Items on the agenda include reports to the board, approval of book fees, accepting donations, accepting a resignation and hiring of substitute teachers and personnel.
