A meeting of the directors of the Sidney Driving Club company, elected earlier this week, was held yesterday at which a resolution was adopted to call a meeting of the stockholders for Tuesday night for the purpose of acting on a proposal for the dissolution of the club.

Complaints are being registered with the Botkins council that the cellars in the village are filled with water. The suggestion has been made that a tile drain installed would eliminate all the open ditches. It is pointed out that the time has come when the town will have to be tiled as all small towns are tiles. Furthermore, it would dispense with seven bridges in the village that are made of stone.

Shelby county commissioners and Shelby County Auditor Harman this morning voiced their opposition to the proposal by the state for the reappraisal of property in the county. Harman said that while some adjustments might be in order, he did not feel the time was appropriate for the reappraisal authorized by the tax commission.

The newly-organized Symphony Quartet will present a program Sunday afternoon at the St. Paul Church. Members of the musical group include: L.E. Terrill, Homer Crusey, Fred Dull, and Kerr Carey.

Presentation of a Silver Beaver was awarded to W. R. Minton, of Sidney, in recognition of his service in Scouting through the years, highlighted the Boy Scout father and son banquet held last evening.

Mrs. Donald Bertsch and her 18-month-old daughter, Sylvia, were forced to flee their farm home early this afternoon, when an exploding kerosine stove set fire to their home, located on R.R. 3, southeast of Sidney.

William (Fred) Wagner will be appointed new director of Division 7 of the Ohio Department of Highways within the next few days, The Sidney Daily News learned today.
Wagner, 46, has been a construction engineer with the division for 21 years. A University of Dayton graduate, he is a Troy native and has resided in Sidney the last 16 years.

The Shelby County Motor Club will occupy new quarters at 122 South Main avenue before a July 1 deadline set for vacation of the present office in the Shelby County courthouse. President Joseph Borchers of Fort Loramie announced.
The club, which is affiliated with the state and national American Automobile Association has operated from the courthouse since its inception 31 or 32 years ago. Borchers said. The new motor club office will be located in the storefront now occupied by Miller’s Fashions. The facility will be remodeled before the club moves in, a date that may come in May, Borchers said.

Kroger Co. officials will increase employment by 100 to almost 200 people when they relocate the Sidney grocery store to a larger facility in the current Kmart store spot, Art Wulfeck, Kroger assistant manager of communications, said today.
Kroger Co. currently operates a grocery store at 2020 Michigan Ave. and company officials are now drawing blueprints to move the store to the west end of the same strip shopping center, Wulfeck said. Kroger Co. plans to use only the Kmart storefront to develop a 65,000-square-foot super store, he said.

OSGOOD – The Jolly 4-H club met recently in the St. Nicholas Catholic Church basement. Installation of officers was held and new members welcomed.
The new officers are: Adam Grieshop, president; Jenny Dwenger, vice president; Kevin Dwenger, treasurer; Erin Kuether, secretary; Nathan Kuether, reporter; Emily Mueller and Scott Schulze, health and safety; and Jenna Poeppleman and Eric Brand, historians.
