COLUMBUS GROVE — Jackson Center knocked off state-ranked Columbus Grove 47-41 on the road on Saturday.

Aidan Reichert scored six points in the first quarter to help the Tigers take an 11-5 lead and scored six more points in the second to help lead a 16-10 advantage that pushed the lead to 27-15 at halftime.

Jackson Center used a 9-8 scoring edge in the second to increase its lead to 36-23 before Columbus Grove, which was ranked No. 6 in Div. IV in this week’s state poll, trimmed the final gap with an 18-11 advantage in the fourth.

Reichert finished with 20 points while Jace Mullenhour scored 12 for the Tigers (15-5) and Camdyn Reese scored 10.

Houston 59, Mississinawa Valley 47

Houston picked up its first win of the season on its home court on Saturday.

The Wildcats took control with a 20-6 scoring edge in the first quarter. Mississinawa Valley outscored Houston 14-13 in the second and 20-8 in the fourth to pull within 42-40, but the Wildcats finished with a 17-7 edge in the fourth.

Xaviar Balensiefer led Houston (1-19) with 20 points while Jake Leist scored 17 and Wyatt Kunk scored 10.

Botkins 89, Waynesfield-Goshen 44

The Trojans set a record for most 3-pointers in a game on Saturday in Botkins.

Botkins built a 32-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and led 53-9 at halftime and 74-25 at the end of the third.

Jacob Pleiman led the Trojans (17-3) with 24 points while Zane Paul scored 17 and Jayden Priddy-Powell added 16. Botkins made 17 3’s in the game.

Anna 55, Troy Christian 47

The Rockets rallied to earn a nonconference win on Saturday in Troy.

The Eagles built an 11-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and used an 18-9 scoring advantage in the second to take a 29-15 halftime lead. Anna used a 14-10 edge in the third to pull within 39-29 before rallying with a 26-8 edge in the fourth.

Ben Kovacs led Anna (15-5) with 19 points while Isaiah Masteller scored 12 and McKane Finkenbine scored 10. Jacob Robinson added eight.

Fairlawn 73, Riverside 55

The Jets earned a nonconference win on Saturday in De Graff.

Fairlawn built a 16-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Pirates outscored the Jets 14-9 in the third to pull within 27-20 at halftime, but Fairlawn put the game away with a 28-12 advantage in the third.

“You have to give Fairlawn a lot of credit for the way they shot the ball tonight,” Riverside coach Seth Bodenmiller said. “They punched us in the mouth early with their defensive pressure in the first quarter, but we battled back in the second. Then in the third, they hit eight 3’s to give them a nice lead and as much as we battled, we just couldn’t close the gap.”

Drew Maddy led Fairlawn (6-12) with 20 points while Ashton Piper scored 17 and Skyler Piper scored 12.

John Zumberger led Riverside (7-12) with 24 points while Landon Stewart added eight points.

The Pirates shot 20 for 51 (39.2 percent) from the floor. Fairlawn had a 28-26 rebounding edge.

Russia 45, Ansonia 38

The Raiders won a nonconference game on Saturday in Russia.

Russia took control with a 14-2 scoring advantage in the first quarter. Ansonia pulled within 22-18 at halftime but the Raiders used a 12-7 scoring edge in the third to take a 34-25 lead into the fourth.

Ben Bohman led Russia (8-11) with 15 points while Hayden Quinter scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds and six steals.

Lima Perry 43, Fort Loramie 38

Fort Loramie couldn’t hold onto a big halftime lead and lost a nonconference game on Saturday in Lima.

The Redskins took a 14-5 lead by the end of the first quarter thanks to eight points from Caeleb Meyer and six points from Caleb Maurer. The squad followed with a 5-4 advantage in the fourth to take a 19-9 halftime lead.

The Commodores took advantage of several steals in the third to power an 18-5 scoring edge that gave them a 27-24 lead heading into the fourth. Fort Loramie took a 30-29 lead early in the fourth, but Perry scored a 3-pointer shortly after to re-take the lead and pulled away from there.

Meyer finished with 15 points for the Redskins (13-7) while Maurer finished with eight.

Lehman Catholic 46, Bradford 32

The Cavaliers won a nonconference game on Saturday in Bradford.

Lehman took an 18-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and used a 13-4 advantage in the second to take a 31-7 halftime lead.

Donovan O’Leary led the Cavaliers (14-3) with 16 points. Michael McFarland scored 10 points and Luke Frantz added eight. Justin Chapman scored six points and had 11 rebounds.

Minster 35, St. Marys 32

The Wildcats earned a nonconference win on Saturday in St. Marys.

The Roughriders built an 8-4 lead by the end of the first quarter but Minster used an 11-4 scoring edge in the fourth to take a 15-13 halftime lead. Minster outscored St. Marys 14-10 in the third to secure the win.

Justin Nixon led Minster (16-4) with 17 points while Zach Fortman added seven. The Wildcats shot 15 for 42 (35.7 percent) from the floor and were outrebounded 23-14.

Fort Jennings 48, New Bremen 47

The Cardinals lost a nonconference game on Saturday in Fort Jennings.

The Musketeers took a 17-6 lead by the end of the first quarter but New Bremen used a 14-9 scoring advantage in the second to pull within 26-22 by halftime. New Bremen outscored Fort Jennings 8-6 in the third and 19-16 in the fourth to further narrow the final gap.

Daniel Homan led New Bremen (12-6) with 14 points while Reece Busse scored 11. Mitchell Hays added nine points and David Homan scored eight points and had eight rebounds.

The Cardinals shot 17 for 47 (36 percent) from the floor and had a 30-15 rebounding edge. The Musketeers shot 20 for 36 (56 percent) from the floor.
