A steady year for Sollmann Electric Company

SIDNEY — Sollmann Electric Company, located at 310 E. Russell Road, Sidney, Ohio, had a productive year in 2020.

“We were able to complete several outstanding projects.” reports Jeramie Sollmann, president. Two of which were fairly large school projects: The 58,000 square foot New Bremen K-8 School located in New Bremen; and the 122,000 square foot renovation of the Clark Shawnee High School project located in Springfield.

“Our 2020 projects represented all of our main client categories including industrial, commercial, healthcare, educational, and public customers”, reports Sollmann. A sampling of the projects completed in 2020 include: Tigerpoly Plant 4 Equipment Hook-ups & Machine Relocations in Grove City; Tavolo Modern Italian restaurant in Sidney; Wilson Health Orthopedic Surgery Suite in Sidney; and Sidney High School Industrial Arts Room Renovation.

Sollmann reports:

Our continued success comes from our highly-skilled electricians and professional staff. We are very fortunate to have an excellent crew of dedicated workers. We have a high retention rate of employees both in the field and in the office. Our journeyperson electricians’ have been employed with us an average of 18 years and our office staff an average of 20 years. We also have many apprentices coming up the ranks. We have 4 fourth-year apprentices who will become journeypersons in 2021 along with 5 third-year, 4 second-year, and 3 first-year apprentices. We also have a school-to-apprenticeship student from the Upper Valley Career Center.

I’m hoping we will be able to add to our crew in 2021. You don’t have to have any electrical experience to be hired as an apprentice electrician at Sollmann Electric. We provide on-the-job training and apprenticeship education. We are looking for reliable individuals who have a great work ethic and are eager to learn. Anyone interested in a position with Sollmann Electric Company can apply online at www.SollmannElectric.com then click on “Employment.”

As for 2021, we will be finishing up the Clark Shawnee New PK-8 School, Springfield; Midmark Technology Center, Versailles; Topre America Corporation Phase 8.5 Building Expansion, Springfield; Orestod Holdings 3-Story Mixed Use Building, Covington; and the Kosei St. Marys West Building Addition, St. Marys. New projects include: Northeastern PK-12 New School Building, South Vienna; Annehurst Elementary School Renovation & Addition, Westerville; Urbana Champaign County New Senior Center, Urbana; and the Western Ohio Community Action Partnership New Head Start Early Childhood Center, Lima.
