D&S Construction brings Parade of Homes back to Shelby County

SIDNEY — 2020 was a year of growth for us at D&S Construction. The community continued to support the construction industry in new homes and remodeling.

“We experienced a steady increase in all areas we focus on including new homes, remodels, additions, new roofs, excavating, and light commercial,” said Sean Rank, member, D&S Construction.

His report continues:

We are very proud to have brought the Parade of Homes back to Shelby County. This was something we really wanted to do for our community and had talked about internally for a couple years. The Western Ohio Home Builders Association had not set a date because of challenges with COVID. They released the date four months away from the show which forced us to make a decision very quickly. After the design work and permitting was finished we had three and a half months to build the home. Our team took it in stride while maintaining our current work. We plan on continuing this tradition and hope to see other local builders join the HBA and the parade to make the event even bigger for Shelby County.

In 2020 we added an in-house framing crew to frame our homes and other projects. This has allowed us to focus more on the quality during this phase of construction. We also ramped up our excavating division by adding an excavator and full-time operator to keep up with our demand.

Materials and selections saw big changes internally as well. We added a Director of Supply Chain position. This position is key to keeping our cost of materials in line as well as meeting the required deadlines for our projects. We are also very excited to announce we added the position of design and selections manager. This role is our client’s portal in creating their dream. We have been very fortunate to maintain great employees over the years and are excited to build on that foundation with these additions.

We were also humbled by being voted the Best Home Builder by Sidney Daily News readers for the last three years.

Our outlook for 2021 looks like a busy year is ahead and we are excited to show our clients the changes we have in place. We also have big news around the corner, but we will leave that for the 2021 report!
