SIDNEY — Freshway Foods, a subsidiary of US Foods, is a fresh fruit and vegetable processor, re-packer, distributor, and logistics provider that serves national and regional restaurant chains, independent restaurants, wholesale distributors, and supermarkets customers across the eastern United States. Based in Sidney, Ohio, Freshway Foods sources products fresh from the field, processes them to the highest quality standards, and delivers those products to customers using their own logistics company.
Although 2020 brought many challenges across the country and the industry, Freshway Foods has displayed great adaptability and resilience.

Associate and customer COVID-19 safety efforts
Freshway associates, who are undoubtedly the company’s greatest asset, continued to meet the needs of customers throughout 2020 while remaining vigilant in their commitment to the many COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
Several health and safety measures were put in place at Freshway Foods throughout 2020 and continue today. These proactive measures include enhanced cleaning procedures, adherence to illness prevention guidelines, wellness checks with temperature screenings before entering the facility, social distancing, essential associate protocols, and return to work procedures.
Our associates are driven to succeed and their positive attitude when faced with a challenge enables us to respond effectively. Our associates collectively turn challenges into accomplishments every day and I’m extremely proud of and inspired by their efforts.
Enhanced supplier efforts during COVID-19
Freshway Foods was proud to be a participating supplier to the USDA Farmers to Families food box program in 2020. The Farmers to Families food box program was designed to supply boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products and meat products to those in need as part of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. As a partner, Freshway helped to package more than 6,000 cases of products per week into family-sizes boxes and transported them to local food banks, charitable organizations and other non-profits serving thousands of Americans in need.
Freshway has a long-standing commitment to supporting programs that give back to those in need. We were honored to be a part of the USDA program and other ongoing opportunities to support hunger-relief efforts in the communities we serve.
