Shelby County Boards of Developmental Disabilities

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Boards of Developmental Disabilities will meet Monday, Feb. 22, at noon in person and via Zoom. Items on the agenda include swearing in of board members, standing committee updates and administrative reports.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held by a hybrid method, with board members in attendance in council chambers and others welcome to join virtually.

The purpose of the meeting is for City Council to hold an executive session to discuss the employment of a public employee.

Upper Valley Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Feb. 22, in the Adams Board Room at 6 p.m.

Items on the agenda include making 2021 committee assignments; reports from the board president, board member and superintendent; approve donations; approve salary schedules; and personnel items.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will hold a regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 22, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held by a hybrid method, with board members in attendance in council chambers and others welcome to join virtually.

There will be a presentation on the downtown and riverfront development strategies.

Council is expected to adopt two ordinances to make supplemental appropriations for 2021 and the rezoning of a 177.83 acre tract of land from a B-2, community business district and I-2 light industry district into five separate and distinct districts.

Council is expected to adopt two resolutions to authorize City Manager Mark Cundiff to enter into an agreement with SwimSafe Pool Management Inc. for the professional services of the management, maintenance, operation and related services for the Sidney Water Park, and also to reappoint Randall J. Magoto as the city of Sidney’s representative to the District 13 Public Works Integrating Committee.

There will be discussions on extending the downtown parking amnesty program, and downtown parking in general.

Jackson Center Council

JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Family Life Center, located at 310 Davis St. Council asks if you are going to attend that you wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Items on the agenda include committee reports, department reports and administrator’s report.

The Finance Committee will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center to review the December 2020 and January 2021 financial reports.

Sidney Board of Education

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. at the high school auditorium. The board’s Feb. 16 meeting was canceled due to the weather.

Items on the agenda include a cost sharing agreement with the city of Sidney for the acquisition and installation of crosswalk improvements; personnel items including the retirement of Principal Keith Helmlinger and Transportation Coordinator Joni Renner; approving requirements for a graduation seal; approve levy rates and amounts; and an executive session for the purpose of employment of personnel.

Regional Planning Commission

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Regional Planning Commission will meet Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in the county meeting room in the basement at 129 E. Court St. Items on the agenda include zoning changes for the city of Sidney; discussion of proposed changes to Articles of Incorporation; approved surveys; and the director’s report.

Community Improvement Corporation of Sidney

SIDNEY — The annual meeting of the Community Improvement Corporation of Sidney, Ohio is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at noon. The meeting place is the Ohio State University Extension Office Conference Room, 810 Fair Road in Sidney.
