SIDNEY — Botkins area organizations may apply for a Louise Sheets Fund grant now through Sept. 8. The online application and guidelines are available on the Community Foundation of Shelby County website at commfoun.com and by clicking ‘Apply for a Grant’ in the Grants & Scholarships menu.

A section for the Louise Sheets Fund will enable visitors to review grant guidelines and instructions and apply for a grant. Anyone new to the online application site will need to create an account and password that will allow for future logins to view grant status.

Not-for-profits and governmental entities located within the Botkins School District or those who serve Botkins area residents are eligible to apply for some of the $73,000 in available grant money. Organizations outside of Botkins will need to demonstrate the number of Botkins residents served by the proposed grant.

In the recent spring grant cycle, the Louise Sheets Fund awarded more than $44,000 in grants to Anna Rescue to assist in purchasing a Lucas chest compression device, the Athletic Boosters for spinning bikes, Botkins Fire Dept. for extrication equipment, Botkins Memorial Pool for concrete sidewalks and the Joint Recreation Board for new fencing for the dog park and basketball court.

The Louise Sheets Fund is administered through The Community Foundation of Shelby County. For more information, call 937-497-7800 or contact Juli Smith, Scholarships and Grants administrator at [email protected].
