DAYTON — Building on its commitment to the communities it serves, Walmart plans to invest an estimated $75 million this year in the west central Ohio area to update and remodel 12 stores.

The 12 stores involved are located in Urbana, Findlay, Springfield, Bellefontaine, Wilmington, Greenville, Sidney, Lima, Celina, Beavercreek, Moraine and Englewood. Prior to this release, the Greenville, Sidney and Lima stores have already finished remodeling and completed their re-grand opening celebrations.

In addition to the local jobs the investment supports, these store transformations will create an updated experience for customers, including expanded shopping options to help people save time and money.

When complete, many remodeled stores will offer pick up, delivery and express delivery, which is deliveries in under two hours. These new conveniences will also make the Walmart+ membership program available to more customers. Walmart+ benefits include free shipping (no minimum), free delivery from stores ($35 minimum), a discount on fuel, a free six-month Spotify Premium membership, and a Paramount+ Essential plan subscription as well as early access offers throughout the year.

“Our local stores have never been more important to the way we serve customers today and in the future,” said Jessica Villanueva, a regional general manager at Walmart. “These stores serve a substantial number of rural communities, so whether someone is shopping in-store, online, through mobile or pick up, our brick-and-mortar stores play an important role in fulfilling those orders. These investments will make it easier for our stores and associates to get customers what they want when they want it.”

Walmart plans to transform stores in communities across the region, with details on store-specific improvements to be announced to the public ahead of each store’s re-grand opening celebrations.
