NEW BREMEN — Lock One Community Arts has selected “Unlock LOCA LIVE” as the theme for their 2022-23 season of performing arts.

LOCA, a non-profit organization, was formed in 2001 by three couples with the intent of bringing live professional stage performances to the West Central Ohio region. The group exists through the support of sponsors, season pass holders, ticket sales and contributions from businesses and friends. All activity is governed by an all-volunteer board composed of a dedicated group of local individuals who generously give their time and talents. The support of Lock One is vital to ensure that high quality artistry continues to be provided in the local area.

All performances of LOCA are presented in the intimate theater setting of the James F. Dicke Auditorium located inside the New Bremen High School. The LOCA Board also works diligently each year to provide a variety of family friendly performing arts productions to this area. Tickets are on sale now for these shows by calling 567-356-2048 or stopping at the Western Ohio True Value Hardware on state Route 66 of New Bremen.

The first show of the season scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m. is The McCartney Years. Hailed by the original Beatles promoter Sid Bernstein as “The Best on the Scene,” The McCartney Years is a period-true, technically stunning and explosive live concert show that performs the music of Paul McCartney spanning two decades from The Beatles to Wings. Songs included will be hits like “Hey Jude,” “Jet,” “Let It Be,” “Band On The Run,” “The Long and Winding Road,” “Live And Let Die,” “Lady Madonna” and many more performed by a band that has entertained audiences worldwide. Tickets for this performance are going quickly with adults for $25 and students $10.

On Nov. 6 at 3 p.m., “Warbonds” invites the audience to take a sentimental journey through a war that redefined the world. This multi-media, living-history cabaret is interspersed with actual veterans’ letters and headline news of the period. LOCA plans to honor area veterans through various displays on that day.

Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m., Six Appeal will present their holiday show for the pleasure of the audience. Six Appeal is a world-touring a cappella ensemble originally based out of Minnesota. This internationally acclaimed group recently won the Grand Prize Championship at the Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival for the 2nd year in a row. This show is a must for the holiday season.

After a winter break, LOCA has scheduled The Texas Tenors for Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 3 p.m. On Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 3 p.m., Jack Wright will deliver the Songs & Stories of Neil Diamond to close out this season.

More information about these shows can be seen on the website, www.lockonearts.org.

LOCA is particularly proud of its educational branch called Pinwheels Productions. Through this venture, specially selected live performances are provided at no cost to approximately 1,400 K through 8 students from ten area schools. This is achieved through the generosity of local sponsors. Each year, on a rotating schedule, groups K through 8 are invited to the James F. Dicke auditorium to experience a live, curriculum appropriate, educational show.

The missions of the Lock One Community Arts is to educate, inspire, entertain, and culturally enrich the people of West Central Ohio by providing quality and affordable access to a wide range of performing arts

The performances presented each year depend on the support of many sponsors and volunteers from throughout the three counties. Check them out on Facebook , www.lockonearts.org, or call 567-356-2048.
