WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, has announced his appointment as co-chair of the Senate Great Lakes Task Force, a bipartisan organization which works to enhance the economic and environmental health of the Great Lakes.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Michigan, will serve alongside Senator Vance as the task force’s other co-chair. Todd Young, R-Indiana, and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, will serve as vice chairs.

“I’m eager to get to work protecting the Great Lakes, which play a vital role in the lives of Ohioans and people all over the Midwest. These lakes support thousands of jobs, billions of dollars of economic activity, and provide a reliable source of drinking water for millions of families,” said Vance. “The people of Ohio deserve a bipartisan, whole of government approach to the problems affecting our abundant natural resources. That’s exactly what this task force aims to provide and I’ll do all that I can to ensure the Great Lakes are protected not just today, but for generations to come.”
