PIQUA-The Valley Church in Piqua surpassed the previous record in their annual “Love Does” offering which is held on Christmas Eve each year. Despite extreme weather conditions for this year’s services, the church again stepped forward to help area charities who provide outreach to those in need.

This year’s beneficiaries included Compassionate Care in Sidney, Bethany Center in Piqua and Partners in Hope in Troy. Each year, The Valley Church holds the “Love Does” offering and selects various charities in the area and 100 percent of the offering collected is donated to the charities chosen by The Valley Church for that year.

This year’s offering resulted in donations totaling $40,447, with the amount equally divided between the three charities chosen for 2022. The 2021 “Love Does” offering raised approximately $35,000.

Pastor Andy Monnin, lead pastor of The Valley Church, Piqua, said, “It’s exciting to be part of a church that changes the spiritual temperature of our communities and meets some of people’s greatest needs and gives them a warm hug that doesn’t go away.”

Monnin added, “The Valley wants to be a church that doesn’t just talk about the things Jesus said to do. We want to do them because love does.”

The Valley Church is located at 1400 Seidel Parkway, Piqua. The public is welcome to attend services that are held on Sundays at 9:15 and 11 a.m. each week.
