The 11th garden season is ending for The People’s Garden, Sidney’s community garden located at 209 South Brooklyn Avenue. The offer fresh, organic produce to shoppers who come to the Agape Distribution pantry store.
During the fall months, the People’s Garden has been harvesting colder weather crops. They have taken radishes, snap peas, lettuce, and cucumbers to the pantry store. The garden grows as much as they can for as long as they can. They have discussed using cover crop during the winter months to fortify the soil in the garden beds.
The People’s Garden is a volunteer based garden that works because of those in the community who assist physically, donate monetarily, and/or give goods such as gardening tools, soil, and supplies for garden beds. The People’s Garden would like to thank everyone who helps keep them operating.
