SIDNEY — Shelby County residents are urged to complete a 10-minute survey to gather input on local needs. The Community Needs Assessment is a free, voluntary survey for those high school age to senior citizens. Surveys are completely anonymous and responses are presented as a group.

SIDNEY — Jan. 8 was the beginning of the winter reading challenge at Shelby County Libraries. The contest is open to anyone with a Shelby County Libraries card. It is divided into three groups; children, teen and adult. Each participant will receive a punch card at the time of signing up to count their progress. Snow that fell overnight was quickly melting but there were still some areas of ground covered in snow.

DAYTON — Friday was the first day for the annual Girl Scout cookie sales. Now through March 17, local Girl Scouts will be participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, selling nine varieties of fan-favorite cookies across the greater Miami Valley. The annual event is the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls.
