Edison’s Child Development Center earns NAEYC accreditation

PIQUA — The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has once again granted accreditation to Edison State Community College’s Child Development Center, according to a press release from the college.

100 days of fun

Riverside Elementary students recently celebrated the 100th day of school. To celebrate the day, students did special activities throughout the day. Other students dressed up for the occasion.

Kindergarten, preschool registration set

DEGRAFF — Kindergarten registration will be held April 4-5 for prospective students in the Riverside Local School District. A child must be 5 years old on or before Aug.1. Parents/guardians should bring birth certificate, Social Security Card, medical/shot record, custody papers (if applicable), and proof of residence to the registration. Parents/guardians must call Riverside Elementary at 937-585-5891 ext. 4310, to set up an appointment time for the child.

Informational night set

SIDNEY — The 2024-25 school year will be here before you know it. Planning at Christian Academy School is already underway. An information night will be held for parents with children in grades K-12 who are interested in learning more about the school. The event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the school.

Christian Academy Schools kindergarten screening set

SIDNEY — Christian Academy Schools, a non-denominational Christian school located at 2151 W. Russell Road, Sidney, will conduct kindergarten screening on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Children are eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall of 2024 if they have reached the age of 5 before Aug. 1, 2024. The screening will take approximately 1½ hours. When coming to the screening the children will be asked to do various activities demonstrating kindergarten readiness.

SIDNEY — The 2024 Community Foundation of Shelby County scholarship applications are now available to local high school seniors and adult students pursuing college, trade and technical schooling. Online applications are accessed at commfoun.com, where students can apply for some of the 90 local scholarship funds awarding more than $380,000.
