Arbor Day celebration planned
WEST LIBERTY — Celebrate Arbor Day 2024 at Piatt Castle Mac-A-Cheek located at 10051 Township Road, West Liberty, Ohio and take home a tree. The free 90-minute program, Trees: Past, Present, and Future begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. Attendees will investigate petrified wood and the 152-year-old wooden paneling inside the Castle, learn about trees currently growing on the grounds, and share in planting a tree for the future. Thanks to the generosity of the Champaign County Soil and Water District, every participant can leave with a tree to plant at their home or someplace suitable. This program is ideal for families, youth groups, and anyone who loves trees.

HOUSTON — The Hardin-Houston Board of Education approved donations for board scholarships and athletics at a meeting on April 15.
Tim Ryan to speak at Democratic Party dinner
SIDNEY — Former Congressman and U.S. Senate Candidate Tim Ryan will keynote this year’s Shelby County Ohio Democratic Party Jefferson/Jackson dinner and will advocate for “Rebuilding a New Democratic Party.”
Concert dedicated to Laws
SIDNEY — The Senior Center Singers Choir will be honoring one of their past members, John Laws, with their Spring Concert on Sunday, April 28, 2024 ,at 2 p.m. Doors will open at 1:30pm and there will be light refreshments provided. The concert is free and open to the public of any age.
