HOUSTON — Gail and Charles T. Knouff, of Houston, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house, Oct. 21, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m., in the Houston Community Center, 5005 Russia-Houston Road, Houston.

Charles and the former Gail Beeman were married Oct. 20, 1968, in the Houston Congregational Christian Church in Houston. The Rev. Haggard performed the ceremony on a chilly, windy day. Witnesses were best man William Swob, ushers James Large and Gary Durnell and maid of honor Gloria Minnich. The couple had met when Charles’s sister, Joy, introduced them at Miami County Dairy, where Gail worked.

Charles is the son of Charles L. Knouff, of Sidney, and the late June Knouff. He has two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joy and Bernie Zircher, and Sue Slife, all of Newport.

Gail is the daughter of the late Dorothy and Donald Beeman. She has a sister, Mary Jo Miller, of Covington, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Pam Beeman, of Covington, and Don and Sharon Beeman, of Piqua.

The Knouffs have three sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Kelly Knouff, of Anna, Craig and Teresa Knouff, of Houston, and Timothy and Krista Knouff, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and John Ziegler, of Sidney. They have 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gail retired from Holiday Inn in 2002 and from the Senior Center of Sidney and Shelby County in 2010. Charles retired from LeRoi in 2003 and from A&B Machine in 2010.

The couple attend the Houston Congregational Christian Church. They enjoy playing golf, aqua exercise at the YMCA, attending their grandchildren’s athletic events and going out to eat with friends.
