MAPLEWOOD — Suzanne and James Watkins, of rural Maplewood, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Nov. 29, 2018, at a family dinner.
Jim and the former Suzanne Jane Herring were married Nov. 29, 1968, in the Methodist Church in Patterson. The bride’s brother, the Rev. Carl Herring, performed the ceremony. His wife, Betty, was the witness.
The Watkinses have two sons, Darin Eugene, of Worthington, and Scott Edward, of Maplewood. They have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jim retired from IDG in 2006, after 33 years of service. Sue retired from the Fairlawn Local Schools in 1999, after teaching 34 years.
Jim enjoys genealogy. Sue enjoys reading, walking, crossword puzzles and southern gospel music. They both enjoy time with their family.
