SIDNEY — Roger and Linda Sidle, of Sidney, will celebrate 50 years of marriage on March 27, 2021. Their children are planning a party this coming summer in celebration of their marriage.

Roger and the former Linda Piper were married on March 27, 1971. It was a beautiful and sunny day. The Rev. Matheney officiated the ceremony. Witnesses to the wedding were maid of honor Becky Hughes and best man Jim Hall.

The couple met on a blind date. Linda was a hairdresser at the Bee Zee Beauty Salon in Sidney and one of her customers set her up on a blind date with Roger.

They are the parents of Cori and Tom Steiner, of Houston, Gina and Ryan Maier, of Houston, and Rusty and Cortnee Sidle, of Columbus. They are the grandparents of Jon and Reagan Steiner, Megan, Katie and Olivia Maier, and Ellie and Josie Sidle.

Roger is the brother of Nancy and Danny Meyers, of Houston, Texas, and Becky and Bob Brumbaugh, of Troy.

Linda is the sister of Larry Piper, of New Port Richie, Florida.

Roger is a retired farmer and still helps haul grain from time to time. He is a retired Washington Township Trustee.

Linda was a hairdresser and worked for Betty Bennett at the Bee Zee Beauty Salon before going to work at Dorothy Love Retirement at the beauty salon there for 38 years before retiring.

They both enjoy fishing, taking care of their chickens, and traveling to Florida and Texas to visit their siblings. They stay very busy during the school year attending their grandchildren’s sporting events at Houston High School.
