Couple celebrates 50 years

SIDNEY — David and Sandy Kemp will celebrate 50 years of marriage on April 17, 2021, with family.

Dave and the former Sandy Lovett were married on April 17, 1971, on a warm spring day at the Pasco Methodist Church, in Pasco. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Kenneth Nason.

Witnesses to the wedding were maid of honor Sharma Selander, bridesmaid Kathy Bulle, flower girls Debra O’Brien and Denise Rumpff, best man Gary Blakey, groomsmen Dan Howell, Ernst Meyer, Robert Buck, and ring bearer Don Rumpff.

The couple met at Wally’s Pizza shop in Sidney.

David and Sandy are the parents of Shon Kemp and his fiancee Shannan Copeland; and the late Adam Kemp and his surviving wife Tiffany Kemp, of Sidney. They are the grandparents of Kayla, Alyssa, Brianna and Emma Kemp, and Lilly, Gage and Maddy Copeland.

Dave retired from General Dynamics after working there for 32 years. He served in the Navy from 1966 to 1970. Sandy retired from Hardin Houston schools in 2017.

Dave and Sandy enjoy spending time with their family and attending their granddaughters sporting events. Dave loves to restore classic cars. Both of them love to travel.
