Behrs mark golden date

FORT LORAMIE — Sally and Roger Behr, of Fort Loramie, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, June 26, 2016, at a Mass at 11 a.m. in the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, a dinner and reception for invited guests and an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. in the St. Michael’s Hall.

A Danube River cruise is planned for a later date.

Roger and the former Sally Meyer were married June 25, 1966, in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Egypt. Witnesses were Joan (Tebbe0 Donahue, Judy (Behr) Peterson, Joyce (Egbert) Hoying, Linda (Baumer) Reier, Judy (Meyer) Francis, Norman Behr, Larry Behr, larry Meyer, Lavern Meyer, Lester Meyer, Mike Behr and Karl Ahrns.

Roger is the son of the late Agnes (Barhorst) and Fred Behr. He has a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Tom Peterson, of Kettering; and a living brother and two sisters-in-law, Larry and Alberta Behr, and Alberta Behr, all of Fort Loramie. Two brothers, Cletus Behr and Norman “Shorty” Behr, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Behr, are deceased.

Sally is the daughter of the late Elsie (Bensman) and Lawrence Meyer. She has five living brothers and four living sisters-in-law, Ralph Meyer, of St. Henry, Harold and Hilda Meyer, of Minster, Dale and Shirley Meyer, of St. Marys, Larry and Jeanette Meyer, of Chickasaw, and Lavern Meyer, of Sidney; and a brother-in-law, Giles Ronnebaum, of Montezuma. Two brothers, Orville Meyer and Lester Meyer, and three sisters-in-law, Eileen Meyer-Ronnebaum, Ginny Meyer and Jean Meyer, are deceased.

The Behrs are the parents of three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Dale Luebke, Brenda and Ed Luthman, and Janet and Tim Fickert, all of Fort Loramie. They have nine living grandchildren and a great-granchild. One grandson is deceased.

Sally retired from Dannon Co. in Minster as a quality assurance lab technician. She has been a 4-H adviser for 39 years and teaches crocheting and ceramics to 4-H members.

Roger retired from Wayne Trial Tool & Die Co. in Fort Loramie as a truck driver.

The couple enjoy their winters in Florida, craft projects and following their grandchilden’s and great-grandchild’s activities.
