Elsons mark golden date

SIDNEY — Marjorie and William Elson, of Sidney, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with Masses at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Dayton, May 2, 2015, and at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, May 16, 2015, and a private dinner party hosted by their daughters and family.

William and the former Marjorie Kremer were married Aug. 7, 1965, at 10:30 a.m., in the St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. The Rev. Edward Herb performed the ceremony on a sunny, warm day. Witnesses were the bride’s sisters, Marilyn and Carolyn Kremer, best man Tony Kremer, cousin of the bride, and Dean Frazier. The couple had met at a dance at Eldora Speedway.

William is the son of the late Chester and Roberta (Griessman) Elson. He has a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Dan Wenrick, of Sidney.

Marjorie is the daughter of the late Otto and Marjorie (Grilliot) Kremer. She has three living sisters, Marilyn Potter, of Troy, Carolyn Crawford, of Greenville, and Janet Brian, of Rockford, and a sister-in-law, Carol Kremer, of Florida. A brother, James Kremer, and another sister, Mariam Wise, are deceased.

The Elsons have two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Kevin Beatty, and Melinda and Josh Ludwig, all of Sidney. They have two living grandchildren. Another grandchild is deceased.

Marjorie retired in 2009 from the medical records department of Wilson Memorial Hospital. William retired in 2010 from Sidney Tool & Die. He continues to work part time for Detailed Machining.

The couple attend Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney. They enjoy spending time watching their grandchildren in sporting activities and collecting antiques. Marge also enjoys flower gardening. Bill also enjoys vegetable gardening, bowling and working in his workshop.
