Couple celebrate 60 years

RUSSIA — Roberta “Joan” and Walter Lee Elsas, of Russia, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in September 2015 at a Mass to be celebrated with their immediate family in the St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.

Walter Lee and the former Roberta “Joan” Liette were married Sept. 10, 1955, at 8:30 a.m., in the St. Remy Cahtolic Church in Russia. The Rev. Frank A. Ratterman performed the ceremony. Breakfast was served at the home of Emma Marchal, Joan’s grandmother and godmother. Lunch was served at Earl’s Island in Fort Loramie, and dinner was at Lindhouse Park, where the couple danced until midnight.

The Elsases are the parents of three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Sharon Elsas, of Russia, Jerry and Diane Elsas, of Versailles, and David and Lynda Elsas, of Troy, Michigan. They have seven granchilden and eight great-grandchildren.
