Couple celebrates golden year

FORT LORAMIE — Theresa and Urban Holthaus, of Fort Loramie, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, April 8, 2017, at a Mass of celebration and a dinner and reception hosted by their family in the Walk-Up Country Club in Fort Loramie.

Urban and the former Theresa Winner were married April 8, 1967, at 10:30 a.m., in the St. Nicholas Church in Osgood. The Rev. Suver performed the ceremony on a sunny, 70-degree day. Witnesses were Ruth Dorsten, Denny Holthaus, Carl and Velma Wuebker, Kathy Hoelscher, Donna Pleiman, Jim Holthaus, Jerry Winner, Dale Winner and Pat (Lefeld) Winner. The couple had met at a wedding.

Urban is the son of the late Leona and Urban Holthaus Sr.

Theresa is the daughter of the late Verona and Ernest Winner.

The Holthauses are the parents of two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Gayle Holthaus, and John and Kelly Holthaus, all of Fort Loramie; and a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jim Tangeman, of Maria Stein. They have 11 grandchildren.

Theresa retired as a manager of receiving for a retail store in 2008. Urban retired as a truck driver and farmer in 2000.

The couple attend St. Michael Catholic Church.
