Anna couple mark golden date

ANNA — LaDonna and Robert Kohler, of Anna, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house, hosted by their children, Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 6:15 to 11 p.m. in the Sacred Heart hall in McCartyville.

Robert and the former LaDonna Cummins were married June 3, 1967, in the St. Joseph Church in Wapakoneta. The Rev. Eilerman performed the ceremony on a warm, sunny, beautiful day. A reception followed in the Knights of Columbus hall in Wapakoneta. Witnesses were maid of honor Sue Horman Cummins, bridesmaids Sue Kohler and Louise Follin, best man Ray Kohler and groomsmen Robert Cummins and Warren Follin. The couple had met on a blind date.

Robert is the son of the late Margaret and Leo Kohler. He has two sisters, Joan Jennings, of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Pauline Gerard, of Sun City, Arizona, and two living brothers, Frank Kohler, of Lima, and Ray Kohler, of Wapakoneta. Another brother, Carl Kohler, is deceased.

LaDonna is the daughter of the late Helen and Robert Cummins. She has a brother, Robert Cummins, of New Knoxville.

The Kohlers are the parents of four daughters, Vicki Blei, of Covington, Becky daCruze, of Savanna, Georgia, Kathy Kohler, of Wapakoneta, and Margie Abualkhail, of Mesa, Arizona. They have eight grandchildren.

LaDonna retired as an activity aide at Fair Haven in 2009. Robert retired in 2009 from Honda, where he worked in maintenance.

The Kohlers attend Sacred Heart Church in McCartyville and enjoy tractor shows and traveling.
