Marchals note golden date

FORT LORAMIE — Edith and Don Marchal, of Fort Loramie, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Aug. 26, 2017.

Don and the former Edith Looker were married Aug. 26, 1967, in Russia. The Rev. Joseph Wolfer performed the ceremony on a sunny day. Witnesses were best man Larry Joe Marchal, maid of honor Ann Wendel, Rick Francis, John Looker, Philip Schmidt, Vicky Looker, Carol Looker and Carolyn Marchal. The couple had been introduced to each other by Ron Crusac.

Don is the son of the late Evelyn and Norbert Marchal. He has two living brothers, Larry Joe, of Piqua, and Delbert, of New Knoxville. Another brother, Edward, is deceased.

Edith is the daughter of the late Wanita and Carl Looker. She has two brothers, John Looker, of Mason, and Jim Looker, of Indiana, and three living sisters, Carol Stiver, Vicky Belt and Betty Blue, all of Sidney. Another sister, Ann Wendel, is deceased.

The Marchals have three sons, Greg, of Piqua, and James and Robert, both of Fort Loramie, and a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and William Hurld, of Fairfield, Virginia. They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

They attend St. Remy Catholic Church. Both are retired.

Don enjoys hunting for arrowheads and fishing. Edith enjoys mushroom-hunting, swimming and playing cards.
