Youngs celebrate 60 years

SIDNEY — Carol and Paul Young, of Sidney, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, Aug. 31, 2017, with family.

Paul and the former Carol Saintignon were married Aug. 31, 1957, in the Holy Angels rectory in Sidney. It was a sunny day. Witnesses were Joanna and Jim Perk, Phyllis Seving and Jim Bashore. The couple had met at an Anna High School baseball game.

Paul is the son of the late Gladys and Karl Young. He has two deceased sisters, Patricia Maxwell and Phyllis Young, and a deceased brother, Richard Young.

Carol is the daughter of the late Josephine and Albert Saintignon. She has a deceased sister, Joanna Perk.

The Youngs have a living son, Larry Young, of Sidney, and three daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Larry Motsinger, and Tamara and Don Herring, all of Sidney, and Heidi and John Kleiber, of Anna. Another son, Darren Young, is deceased. They have 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Carol retired from Copeland Corp. Paul retired from General Housewares. They attend Holy Angels Catholic Church and enjoy spending time with family, bowling, fishing and camping.
