SIDNEY — Virginia and Lloyd Smith, formerly of Piqua, now of Sidney, will celebrate their 74th wedding anniversary, Oct. 24, 2015, with their children and grandchildren.

Lloyd and the former Virginia Ramey were married Oct. 24, 1941, in the United Brethren Church in Piqua on a beautiful fall day. They had met at church.

The Smiths are the parents of three sons and two daughters-in-law, Alan Smith, of Piqua, Ken and Becky Smith, of Piqua, and Don and Nancy Smith, of Xenia; and a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jerry Higgins, of Sidney. They have 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

The couple attend the Sidney First United Methodist Church. They enjoy participating in many activities and events at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, where they now reside.
