Reinekes celebrate golden date

MAPLEWOOD — Diana and Bill Reineke, of Maplewood, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house, hosted by their daughters, Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Faith Baptist Church in Sidney.

Bill and the former Diana Mummey were married Nov. 18, 1967, in the Maplewood home of Jan and Dick Ward. The Rev. Richard Adams performed the ceremony on a cold, snowy day. The bride had two broken legs! Witnesses were Nancy and Charles Martin. The couple had met through family.

Bill is the son of the late Mable and Roy Reineke. He has a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and JoAnn Reineke, and a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dean Long, all of Sidney.

Diana is the daughter of the late Opal and Clyde Mummey. She has two brothers and a sister-in-law, Warren Mummey, of Lake Alfred, Florida, and David and Sandy Mummey, of Coral Gables, Florida; and three sisters, Janice Ward, Shirley Ceylor and Jenny Lay, all of Sidney. Three brothers-in-law, Richard Ward, Doyle Ceylor and Robert Lay, are deceased.

The Reinekes are the parents of two daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Bob Gold, of Maplewood, and Amy and Ron Roe, of Sidney. They have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bill retired from Slagle Mechanical in May 2013. Diana retired in November 2010 from Komyo Logistics.

The couple attend the Faith Baptist Church. Bill enjoys gardening, fishing, playing cards and woodworking. Diana enjoys scrapbooking, card-making and crocheting. They both enjoy traveling.
